ARCHITECTURAL FOLLY (Under-graduate design project)

The purpose of the architectural folly was to make the place more "interesting" and more attractive. The folly is placed under the Story Bridge with a high numbers of pedestrians jogging, or walking to a ferry station nearby.

When I first went to the location, it felt like a futursitic scene with mixtures of industrial junks, broken vehicles, graffittis, the bridge and mechanic noises of the traffic. These combined with the natural cliff and green vegetations gave the place a sense of a cohabitation of machines with nature, very interesting and surreal, which led to the design of the folly.

The green iron tree with colourful lights is designed to portrays this metalic eco-system.
